About Me

Hello! My name is Suzanne, friends call me Sue, Suz, Suzie and Suzette, well only my husband calls me the last one, but I am glad you found your way here.  I have been blogging a looong time, formerly over at Blueberry Cottage where all my archives are still available.  I love Donna Reed, June Cleaver, Harriet Nelson, Olivia Walton, and heck, even Carol Brady!  A dream come true for me would be if I could sit and chat with these gals over cake and coffee and talk homemaking, recipes, children and husbands (yes, I know they're not real--please don't burst my bubble!).

After a bit of a blogging break and lots of prayer, I am a born-again Christian too, by the way, I felt the Lord's leading to revive this blog and focus what time I do have available on my passion, homemaking. I have always wanted to be "a keeper at home" and really do delight in this calling. In this space I hope to share in the spirit of Titus 2:3-5,  a bit of mentoring for the young homemaker or homemaker in training to find fresh encouragement to fulfull her calling as a keeper of the homefires. I am not able to post daily, as I too, am busy keeping home and homeschooling to boot, but will be here 2-3 times per week posting on relevant topics you will always find under the headers in the navigation bar. There will also be a weekly posting called "Let's Get Stitched", where we can all share our handwork such as knitting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing, etc.

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Yes, I am married, to a wonderful and quite handsome guy who plays a mean guitar, with five children and four grandchildren, so far, just in case you want to check my credentials. The children range in ages from 28 down to 8. I have been saved by the gift of Christ's finished work on the cross for 27 years now and am so thankful my mansion is being built in heaven!
